Marti Frumhoff — friend, colleague, sister, activist, daughter, artist, community leader — only a few of the many ways to describe one person who touched so many and who was taken from us far too soon.
MARTI'S GARDEN TAKES SHAPE! Marti's garden has finally come to fruition, after much hard work, fundraising, planning and planting! We're not quite ready to dedicate the garden, but the expansion of the space has been completed; sprinkler systems have been installed; concrete work completed; 5 treeps planted; hearty bushes are in the ground. In the spring, additional finish plantings will go in and we'll be ready to dedicate the garden in Marti's memory. See the photo below of the new sign, donated by the Parks Department in Marti's honor.
Welcome to our online memorial site dedicated to creating a physical rememberace to thank Marti for the positive impact she had on each of us and our City. Marti contributed so much, and we want to create something in her honor to remember those contributions that she left as her legacy.
Enter the memorial garden. Marti's Memorial Garden can be found in a triangle-shaped piece of land in the beautiful south city neighborhood of Tower Grove SOuth (Marti’s home for the last 20+ years), located at the intersection of Morgan Ford and Utah St along the edge of the burgeoning Morganford business district. The Morgan Ford business district encompasses what Marti would have referred to as an “urban main street” — the subject of over a year’s worth of work on a forthcoming website project Marti was developing prior to her untimely passing, thus marking this location and site as an appropriate option for us to explore. Marti was also the founder of the St. Louis Rehabbers Club as well as President of ReVitalize St. Louis.
Organizers of this project are:
Christian Herman, Tower Grove South resident, friend of Marti and block captain steering committee
Christopher Thiemet, colleage and friend of Marti
Peggy Hoelting, TGS Resident, friend of Marti's and the memorial garden designer
